Operating inside the Mt Buller umbrella, it is expected that providers will have been verified as trustworthy, however, in my opinion, this operation employs questionable tactics, they advertised an amazing apartment, then used intimidation tactics with a high hand to put us into lower quality accommodation at inflated rates, on arrival it was unexpected for us to find and apartment featuring; locked cupboards and possessions throughout, no constant hot water in the shower, dark ages heating that took 4 hours to get going after arrival and constantly stopped working or needed adjustment (especially bad for young children). Add in a broken intercom and only 1 set of keys for everyone to share, no dry room or locked storage for equipment! When booking on the phone I was told we could have a 12 pm checkout on Sunday, and if there was no-none booked for Sunday night we could leave our goods locked away and ski out the day, with check out after 4 pm, but I would need to confirm this Sunday morning. After many attempts on Sunday morning, I finally reached an attendant, being told that the late afternoon checkout would not be honored and we had to be out at 10 am, I reminded the attendant that we had been promised a 12 pm check out, which was denied stating “do you have it in writing”, when questioned regarding a location for storing our goods for the afternoon I was told there were no secure options (as enjoyed by friend staying elsewhere on the mountain). This accommodation features NO STORAGE FOR BAGS ON CHECKOUT DAY and the cars are parked miles away and you have to pay to get down to them or back, meaning you can kiss your pre purchased lift passes goodbye for that day! We had to cut short our day of skiing to go back to the apartment and move out and off the mountain. This was accompanied by intimidating calls and harassment by an unidentified male, who threatened to have police attend to remove us, which to be frank caused shock to my 70-year mother and sister with a new born baby. The final joke of this sham operation came with the receipt of text message communications between what appears to be the operator of this apartment and one of their thugs discussing the need to get us out, seemingly sent to me by mistake.

You know those amazing weekends you have away with your family, though it contained all the ingredients, this was not one of those. Avoid “Alpine Holliday Rentals” and snowflake 12 like the plague. Originally booking what looked like an amazing ski in ski out location for over $2700 as advertised online, we called the day following to confirm the parking situation, we were told that the accommodation, which we had entered our CC details for was unavailable (despite still being available on the website). Surprise surprise, we were told there was one apartment available nearby, however, the rates quoted on the phone were higher than what I’d seen advertised online (by almost 600 dollars), furthermore we were told the booking couldn’t be made on the website and we had 10 minutes to confirm the change…. They stated they were HELPING us by avoiding online fees and booking on the phone (they still had to charge the CC surcharge) when we questioned the discrepancies we were told the rates were dynamic and changed every day!! Despite the fishy circumstances we were intimidated into booking, because we had booked with alpine fraudsters in the days leading up to the weekend and it was now Thursday, we didn’t want to risk missing out.

I understand the concept of supply and demand and high costs during the peak period, despite the demand; I would expect a baseline level of quality and service for accommodation that costs in the thousands of dollars. We will not be returning to Buller if this is the standard that can be expected or is allowed to operate under the Mt Buller banner.

The apartment is a delight to stay in nicely renovated with a great TV lounge and breathtaking views. This would be the best mt Buller accommodation I have stayed in.

I have just stayed at Twin Towers 504 and have had a great time. Needed some time off from a very stressful week. Although cold at Buller we were able to get in some bush walking etc.

We stayed at The Alps with a group of friends this winter. This property is set up with everything you could think for for a great stay. The beds were super comfy with plenty of big doonas and blankets. All bedrooms were warm and cosy and all had views of Mt Buller. The living areas were spacious and again had great views of Buller. There is a big open fire and sofa seating even for a large group. We had a few chefs on our trip and they enjoyed the well appointed kitchen with large stove and oven and all of the extras the kitchen provided. The staff at Alpine Holiday Rentals were really friendly and went overboard to make our stay enjoyable...thanks guys. Overall this was a great stay and we are booked in for next year.
